Feeding the same report with a new set of data on the PBI server

Dear Community,

I have a .pbix file published to the server. The .pbix file is made in Power-BI desktop fed with MS Excel data, and uploaded to the server using REST APIs.

So far, everything went well and I see my report properly on the server.

Now, I want to update the same report but with a new dataset (the dataset is Excel and has the same columns and format).

Do you know how this replacement of the data manually and eventually with APIs is possible?

Thank you in advace,

Majid

You can switch the datasource in the power query editor under source.

Or how do you connect the file in the Power BI Desktop?

Best,

Kathrin

Yess, and even better to make a 'parameter' form the source and later manipulate it with API calls 🙂
