Dynamic RLS for on-premises Power Bi reports server

I`m new with Power BI and I apologize from the beginning if this topic has been discussed.

Can you please let me know if Dynamic RLS is available for on-premises Power Bi reports server?

Following this tutorial i`m not able to apply RLS over a datasets (no datasets present) because this option is not available after i saved the Report to Power BI Report Server from Power BI Desktop ( August )

If this tool is not available for on-premises Power Bi reports server can you please let me know how can I provide access for a specific User, to custom data from a report( same as the above tutorial)?

Thank you in advance.

Cata

Hi @catalind86,

What is your data source? The August 2017 Preview adds support for imported data but doesn't yet support the row-level security (RLS) feature over that imported data. If your data source is live connection to SQL Server Analysis Service, please refer to this turorial to configure RLS on SSAS side.

Thank you @v-yulgu-msft,

As i understand the August 2017 Preview only allow you to use row-level security if you have a live connection to SQL Server Analysis Service.

The data source that i`m using right now is SQL Server and the data connectivity mode is Import. Is looks like my environment is not suitable for this version.

Thank you and I`ll follow the attached tutorial.

Kind Regards,

Cata

Hi @catalind86,

Yes. If the data source is SQL Server DB with imported mode, RLS is not supported by Power BI report server.
