Direct Query SQL connection Report Server

We couldn't connect to the Analysis Services server. Make sure you've entered the connection string correctly.

Got the above error while tring to connect to Microsoft sql server. I was able to connect with import method. However the above error is displayed for Direct Query Method.  It is a distributed system with the Report server and Database on different servers. I am uable to connect to the database even if i mannually enter the User Name and password for Windows Authentication.

I am using January 2019 desktop app and Report Server.

Hi @Anonymous ,

you try to connect a Analysis Service with the SQL connector? 

Please use the Analysis Service and connect via Live Connection 🙂
