I want to connect to report server with Power Bi Desktop RS. But when I enter the address from the "Power Bi report server selection" window, it says "Server is not reachable". How do I solve this problem?
The report server address is http://192.168.1.9:8040/reports.

That seems like a networking issue. Are you able to access that URL from the machine where Desktop is installed and does it display the Web Portal?
Hi @allahbakhshi ,
First of all, many thanks to @d_gosbell for your very quick and effective replies, in order to better help customers solve their problems, I will give some specific actions below.
Firstly, the error message you're encountering can occur due to a couple of reasons, including network connectivity issues or specific network configurations blocking access. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve your issue:
1. Check Network Connectivity: Ensure that your computer is connected to the network and can access other network resources. Try pinging the report server address from your command line or terminal to see if the server is reachable.
2. Verify the Report Server Address: The format of the server address you've provided seems correct, but it's always good to double-check. The standard format for entering a report server address in Power BI Desktop RS is 'http://<ServerName>:<Port>/reports'. Ensure there are no typos in the address.
3. Firewall and Network Devices: It's possible that a firewall or network device is blocking access to the report server. Check if 'http://192.168.1.9:8040/reports' is accessible from a web browser on the same computer. If not, you may need to configure your firewall or network device to allow access.

Thank you for your feedback. I checked all the options and there are no problems. The indicated address is correct and accessible through the browser. But unfortunatly, it is not possible to access through Power BI Desktop RS.
When you access that address in the browser what do you see? What you should see is the Report Portal web application (similar to the view in the screenshot here What is Power BI Report Server? - Power BI | Microsoft Learn )
If you see a text based list of reports and folders then you are actually looking at the web service endpoint and you need to find the address for the web portal.
That seems like a networking issue. Are you able to access that URL from the machine where Desktop is installed and does it display the Web Portal?
There is no problem connecting to the URL and accessing the web portal through the browser. It can be accessed even through Static IP and Internet.
