Hi all,
I have SQL 2016 and wanted to install Power BI report server with connection to database in SQL.
I downloaded Power BI report server may 2019 and installed it, but when I go to configuration manager, I can't find instance of PBIRS. In fact, there is no isntance. I read that PBI can't connect to SQL 2016, so how can I install standalone PBI report server and work on it?
Thanks.
Regards,
Yerkhan

Which "configuration manager" are you trying to use. You need to user "Report Server Configuration Manager" (not "SQL Server Configuration Manager") on the server where you installed PBIRS. If you cannot see the instance maybe try running the Report Server Configuration Manager as an admin.

I don't know where you read this, but it's not true.
