Hello colleagues i have the following Problem:
I try to visualize Pictures that are located in my Sharepoint Folder in Power BI. The visualization is no Problem for me, that works fine. But I need the file updated when a new picture/new data is added to the Sharepoint. I tried to solve this problem with a flow, which gets executed, but doesnt really refresh the querys in my Power bi file and thus the visualisation isn't updated as well. Also I can not implement the scheduled refresh option which would also be a solution for me. But the error which occurs says, that my data source (Sharepoint Folder) is not capable in terms of updating. So my question is how can i update my existing Power Bi file which gets data from a Sharepoint folder. I d be pleased for any recommendation.
Kind Regards
Philipp
@ACC_Entwickler First, is your SharePoint on-premises or SharePoint Online? If it is on-premises, do you have a data gateway installed?
@Greg_Deckler so to give more information on that Topic: when I run an power automate flow to refresh the dataset it just refreshes the Power BI online Dataset which does not get new data from the sharepoint, but the flow itself works. But as I said the querys are nor updated. If I go to Power BI desktop and click refresh the Dataset it is updated and i can repuplish it. And this is strange to me, because as mentioned the Sharepoint is an online Sharepoint and so Power Bi should be able to refresh the dataset aswell, or am I wrong here? I have all the permissions to the Sharepoint, my account is admin to both, Power BI and SharePoint. Do you have any suggestion what i can try to make it work?
Greetings Philipp
@Greg_Deckler thanks for trying to help me. The SharePoint is an Online Sharepoint, so I guess no gateway needed.
