Allow data export only for certain users

Hello all,

I don't think so, but I prefer to ask the question anyway.

Is it possible to allow data export (SSRS reports and PowerBI Dashboards) only for certain users? For the others, it would have to be blocked.

According to the official article description：

To export the data from a visual, you need to have Build permission for the underlying dataset. （Members of a workspace with at least a Contributor role automatically have Build permission for datasets in that workspace, and permission to copy a report)

And it's important to note that if the Power BI admin portal settings conflict with the report settings for export data, the admin settings will override the export data settings.

Please check with the administrator whether the "export data" function is enabled for entire organization in the admin portal.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

The proposed solution works for a Power Bi Cloud tenant.

In my case, it is PBIRS (Power BI On-premises) and therefore this solution does not apply.

This is not possible on PBI RS as of now.
