unable to Edit Power Query Applied Steps

Hi,

I have Power Query Version "2.127.277.0 64-bit" and for some reason I can no longer edit existing applied steps in Power Query.

Scenario:

I am just bringing in a simple Excel sheet

Remove nulls from a column

Close and Load

When i re-enter Power Query I can no longer edit the Applied Steps I just created. They appear greyed out but no clickable?

Can anybody help?

Hi,

Thanks for the replies ... Here is a screen shot...The existing Applied Steps cannot be edited or clicked on.... It is not that some steps are only editible via M Script as i have been using these in this way for years from the same Excel source and they have have always been editible... Thanks

Hi @BeanieMan ,

Just for testing, can you use the same Excel source in another power BI file, just to make sure if it's happening after a version update.

Hope it helps.

P.S.-I believe that all applied steps are greyed out, but in image you shared they appear not so. May be It's not that clear to me.

Are you able to edit the Excel worksheet?

Are you able to enter the Advanced Editor in Power Query?

Are you able to edit the formula bar in Power Query?

Hi @BeanieMan ,

Do you mean here? For some steps without UI, you need to edit the m-code in the code bar or in the advanced editor.
