Why is my Source step not showing the cog to select the source SQL query?

Hi all, 

I'm pretty new to power query/bi, so I hope I'm not missing something simple. I want to select my Source query from my applied steps. Normally I would select the cog next to the step and copy the query from there, however the cog is not showing up next to my Source step. Screenshot below, 

. In the above field, I see remnants of a query, but it looks like it has been encoded to work with power query. 

How can I get my original sql query without going through the encoded part and changing every little detail?

The cog appears if you've used the GUI to make your code, and it usually disappears one you manually alter that code.
