Web Service as a Source for Power Query/Power BI

This feature would be really useful to have, SSIS has a good Web Service Task component for that. can we have something like web service source here in Power Query / Power BI?

PowerBI has a REST API that you can use to send information from your webservices or other sources.

Thanks, but I mean ability to give url of WSDL file or ASMX or web service url, and then pass parameters all in Power Query or Power BI Designer.

You should probably think of wrapping your web service as an OData feed instead.  You should look at the WebApi samples from MSFT in GitHub.

Will SOAP envelope be available for power bi soon?

Anyone got this working? I need to send a specific xml string (contains username, password, requested report name etc) to a webservice. How can this be done?

Hi,

I want to do the same thing, connect to a web service with a user name and password.

Did you find a solution?
