User selected value as Parameters to Web API

I have a requirement where the user can select a value from a slicer in Power BI report and it needs to be passed as query parameter string to a web API call from Power Query.

Right now , I can make API calls by harcoding the query parameter string and I am able to see the expected results.
I can capture the value selected by the user in the slicer. However I cannot pass this value to Power Query

Please let me know how this can be achieved?

I have the same requirement and keep hitting brick walls.  Is there any kind of work around to this that you have identified?

Only possible in Direct Query mode. Confirm your storage mode.

Hi @lbendlin ,

Thanks for your reply.

Currently storage mode is import.

The below link seems to suggest that  DirectQuery is not supported when data source is web

Power BI data sources - Power BI | Microsoft Docs

Or  it is possible to change storage mode to DirectQuery when the data sourse is Web API?

If so, how can I change storage mode to DirectQuery?

Many thanks

No, i think you have hit a dead end with this requirement. Cannot be done in Power BI.
