Hi
My data was flattened out of structure when I imported into Power BI, I want to create a query that filters out the unneeded data.
I have a column of data which in the live formats like this:
1.
1.1
1.2
but in BI formats like this:
1.
1.1
1.2
meaning that I cannot filter by 1. becuse I loose all the data in 1.1 and 1.2
I have created a table array in Excel that includes all the sub numbers and what categories they refer to.
I think what needs to happen is something like this that covers all my data:
FILTER(
('MainTable'[category column]),
'ArrayTable' IN { "NUMBER LIST" }
)
Hello - this is how you can filter a table by a list of values in Power Query...
Table.SelectRows(#"Prior Step", each List.Contains(myListName, [MyColumnName]))
Hi,
Still new to some of the terminology, so just a little check for me to make sure I am doing this correctly.
"Prior step" refers to what?
myListName = the list I am using to search for values
myColumnName = the column the values I am search for are in
which gives me this so far:
Table.SelectRows(#"Prior Step", each List.Contains(IDList, [data.categoryid]))
