Hi all,
I have created a Power BI Report, that is querying data from multiple excel files and a folder from a shared one drive folder.
I want to hand over the maintenance of this report to a colleague with access to the same one drive folder with the files stated above.
When said colleague tries to refresh the pbix report locally via Power BI dektop this is not possible. The pbix report does not recognize that we both have access to the same files, the data query still runs under my name. I want to change the data sources querying from the folders and excel files, so that anyone with the pbix. file and access to the one drive folder can refresh data in the power bi report.
Can I specify the file path in a particular way for the queries, to make it generic i.e. usable for all users? (D:\Users\[NAME]\Folder1\Folder2 ... )
Could some one help me with this?
Any help is very much appreciated, thank you!

Hi @Anonymous ,
When your colleague opens the PBIX, get them to open Power Query, then go to the Home tab > Data Source Settings.
In there, they need to select each source in the 'Data sources in current file list', hit 'Edit Permissions', and enter their own credentials for each source that requires non-global authentication.
With regard to giving broader access, you should be looking to set up a service account that has all the permissions/access required for your data sources, and build your reports/connect to sources using this account. Anyone that you then give the service account credentials to can pick up/refresh everything.
