Sharepoint Folder

I use excel file in Sharepoint as datasource, pbix. file in Sharepoint as report input, and app.powerbi.com as a User Interface to see the pbix file.

I also have the needs to revise the pbix. report in desktop version and reupload to Sharepoint folder a few times a day. The data is updated to Sharepoint once a week as well. I'm expecting the pbix User Interface gets updated every time I have it updated.

However, the pbix report didn't seem to get updated automatically after every update. The error message shows that "We are unable to locate the file on OneDrive for Business. Please check that the file exists in this location."

Does this mean that this way wouldn't work? Please suggest if there's any way to fix this. Thanks.

@meiko0713,

Firstly, what option do you use to connect to the PBIX file in Power BI Service? Please make sure that you use SharePoint- Team sites option in Power BI Service.

Secondly, how do you reupload PBIX file to SharePoint folder? Do you delete the original PBIX file in SharePoint, then reupload the PBIX file? If so, it is not possible to refresh the report in Power BI Service as the connection to PBIX file is corrupted. Ensure that you reupload PBIX file to SharePoint and replace the old PBIX file.

Thirdly, what changes do you make in the PBIX file?

Regards,
Lydia
