I have SQL Server on Linux server. I connect to it using database credentials.
It works in desktop, but does not in online service.
a) Do I need to install gateway for it to work online?
b) As I understand, there is no linux gateway. So what can I do?
There is no solution about unix systems?
@mczaicki,
What is the issue or error message do you get in Power BI Service? If you want to refresh your dataset in Power BI Service, install on-premises gateway, add the SQL data source within gateway.
Please make sure that you are able to access SQL Server from the machine that installing gateway. Also use same connection string as that in Power BI Desktop when you add SQL data source under gateway.
Regards,
Lydia
Hi @mczaicki!
I have a similar problem.
My data source is a MySQL on a Linux Server.
Power BI desktop works fine but when I upload to the online service didn't work.
Have you find any solution?
Thanks!
Did anyone ever find a workaround for this problem?
