Hi,
I am not a developer so I am looking for very basic information on how to connect a rest API to power BI.
I have been given an API key from a company that work with us to provide web tracking information, i want that information to be visible within power BI.
Could someone please guide me through the steps of achieving this? when I enter a URL uinto the web data source and use the key provided, I get "the credentials provided are invalid"
any help would be appreciated.
Hi @solidsoulja,
In order to be able to supply an “Api Key” via the credential UI, the Power Query with Web.Contents() function has to look like this:
Web.Contents(URL, [ApiKeyName="mykey"])
You can take a look at this blog: Working with Web Services in Power Query.
Best Regards,
Qiuyun Yu
