Regarding Rank Formula

Hi

Create 2 canvas with a fixed layout of 1300px width and 700px height.

  1. Dashboard #1. Audience: Executive

The first canvas is meant to provide a Canadian official with a summary on how Canada is performing against overall G7 countries (G7 Countries are Canada, France, Italy, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom and United States) in 4 areas:

  1. Birth Rate
  2. Business Tax Rate
  3. GDP per Capita ( GDP / Population Total )
  4. Health Exp % GDP

Each metric (you may have 4 sections) should contain:

  1. A single number representing the latest year’s value (2012) for Canada.
  2. A trend showing the 12-year results for all G7 countries, with Canada coloured differently, and the metric average as a reference line.

  1. Dashboard #2. Audience: Analyst

The second canvas is meant for an analyst to probe the data set and identify countries that would offer the best quality of life based on their performance in the 4 selected metrics.

Interactive map: use Country as Location

  1. Create a parameter that allows the user to toggle between the G7 and Other countries
  2. Create a slicer for Region
  3. Include a smaller sized year trend that is a on the dashboard or a tooltip that updates or pops up when hovering/clicking over a data point (Country). The trend should show all 13 years on the horizontal axis and the 4 metrics.
  4. Add a rank value to text and always show the label of measure value and rank for Canada.

In this above question, I have doubt in dashboard 2,  4th question regarding rank value addition.

Business Tax Rate Rank = RANKX(ALL('World-Indicators Extract_Full Data'), CALCULATE(SUM('World-Indicators Extract_Full Data'[Business Tax Rate]),'World-Indicators Extract_Full Data'[Country]="Canada"), , ASC, Dense)

Business Tax Rate Info = "Business Tax Rate: " & FORMAT(SUM('World-Indicators Extract_Full Data'[Business Tax Rate]), "0.00%") & " (Canada Rank: " & 'World-Indicators Extract_Full Data'[Business Tax Rate Rank] & ")"
I have tried these 2 formulas for each metrics. But I could not get the correct rank value for canada. Instead of rank 4, its showing rank 3. But it supposed to be 3. may it be an index problem. please solve my issue

Hi @gayathrignanam ,

It seems like you’re trying to calculate the sum of the 'World-Indicators Extract_Full Data'[Business Tax Rate]. This might be causing an issue because ‘Business Tax Rate’ is likely not a summable measure (it’s probably an average or a rate).

Should we consider using AVERAGE instead of SUM here?

Gao
