Refreshing Excel Data into Power BI

Hi,

I've linked my Power BI model to an excel workbook, but when I try to refresh the data, I get the error "Item '[Column_Name]' already exists in the collection." However, my understanding is that, in order to update, column names had to be consistent between the model's existing dataset and new dataset.

I know this is probably an operator error, but I couldn't find any previous posts on it, so I could really use a hand.

Hi @ethanA,

Did you import Excel workbook to desktop or service? If it's in desktop, please open the Query Editor, click Refresh Preview for each query to see where is the issue. Also please check if [Column_Name] duplicate in one query.

If the issue persists, please share detail steps to test it.

Best Regards,

It's hard to understand your problem. What did you do that caused this error?
