Hi All
I have created a report in Power BI desktop. The sources are:
My Power Query work Merges these two sources near the end of the transformations.
This works perfectly in Power BI desktop. However, when I publish the report to the service and refresh the data set, it fails in the service, with this error:
We cannot convert the value "[Table]" to type Table
I have confirmed that it is the Merge step that is causing the error. If I change the queries to not do the merge, but instead have the different sources as seperate tabkles in the model, it works.
I have set the report to "Ignore the Privacy Levels and potentially improve performance", and both data sources are set to "Public" privacy level.
Below are some screenshots of the error and the dataset settings.
Does anyone know why this would be happening?
Thanks,
Craig
@NewOzzie,
I have sent you email address via private message.

Hi Lydia
I have now sent you the email.
Thank you,
Craig
@NewOzzie,
Thanks for your sharing the files. As I have no testing environment for Azure Blob storage and I am unable to reproduce this issue when putting xml file in local drive , I would recommend you open a ticket in Power BI support site.
Regards,
Lydia
Do you get the issue when using other data sources? Could you please share the Excel file and XML file to me and provide the transformation steps here so that I can test?
Regards,
Lydia
Hi Lydia
The files contain sensitive information. Do you have an email address where I can send them?
Thanks,
Craig
