Referencing a cell in an IF statement

Hello,

I am trying to write an IF statement in DAX that will reference cells in a table. I want the syntax to read the next cell below it, calculate, and then spit out 1 or 0.

My data set is above. I want the syntax to read the first column, assign a 1 in a new column for the first row, then a 0 for rows 2 and 3, continuing on with 1, 1, 0, 0.

I have duplicates in the first column and I only want to count each combination of characters once.

Thank you all for you time and help.

  • Can't you just use the DISTINCTCOUNT function to get the result your looking for? This will only count the number of unique values in column1?
