Dear Team,
I am facing an issue in Power BI Desktop and would like to request that a Microsoft support ticket be raised for investigation.
Issue Summary:
When using the Dark Theme in Power BI Desktop, I am unable to select multiple columns using Ctrl + Left Click in the Power Query Editor.
Expected Behavior:
Holding the Ctrl key and clicking multiple column headers should allow multiple column selection.
Actual Behavior:
With the Dark Theme enabled, only a single column can be selected. The Ctrl + Click functionality does not work.
Additional Information:
The same functionality works correctly when using the default/system-generated theme.
The issue appears to be specific to the Dark Theme. The Ctrl key works normally in other applications.
Thank you for your support.
This seems like a Power BI Desktop Dark Theme-specific bug since the same Ctrl + Click selection works with the default theme. Sharing the Desktop version, OS details, and steps to reproduce with Microsoft Support should help them investigate. For now, switching to the default theme can be used as a workaround.
@SanskarGawade
As per your detail this is related UI bug rather than issue with Power Query or keyboard.
1-First of all please check what Power BI Desktop version you are using , if you installed lated version recently.
2-If you recently installed previous version, try using the same with previous version, this step will help you to identify of either this is related to latest PowerBI desktop version or not.
3-If you have another laptop or machine available, please test the same on another machine, if will identify of something to do with windows settings.
4-Reset PowerBIdesktop, clear all cache.
My findings:
Since:
this strongly suggests a Power BI Desktop fault in the Dark Theme UI, likely affecting the Power Query Editor's column header selection logic rather than a keyboard or operating system issue.
