Hi I am using Power Query to create connection to SAP HANA. To maintain SSO, we are exporting the file to .odc file format and giving to the users. They open the .odc file in excel.
We have a request now to include thousands separator in the .odc file. This needs to be some how done in Power Query as there is no front end in our case.
Could you please help?
Hi, @mshilendhari
I think you need to format the column with thousands separator in Excel. The formatting in Excel is a reformatting of data, Power query transforms the data like a database. When you format it, Excel takes the value and changes the "look" of it. If you want to do the formatting in Power Query, you can format as Text and change the "look". However, this field is no longer a number but text field.
Best Regards
Allan

Hi, @mshilendhari , not clear about your ultimate goal based on your description; but you might want to Text.Repeat() in Power Query to transform specific text.
| Thanks to the great efforts by MS engineers to simplify syntax of DAX! Most beginners are SUCCESSFULLY MISLED to think that they could easily master DAX; but it turns out that the intricacy of the most frequently used RANKX() is still way beyond their comprehension! |
DAX is simple, but NOT EASY! |
