Power BI Gateway Installation

I have a question about where i should instal the on-premise gateway,

Should i do it on the server that contains my data source ?

Or on any server that can connect to my data source, the most important thing is that the server remains available for the update of data?

Since we connect to both Oracle and SQL Server data sources, we have it on a server that can connect to any of our sources
