Opening Attachments from Email using PowerQuery

One of our departments receives emails that they would like to be able to view from Excel. I know how to pull data using the Microsoft Exchange data source, but I'm running into a few snags afterwards.

I want to do one of the following:

1) Open the attachments from Excel (this is the preferred method).

2) Open the email (this is the backup if #1 doesn't work out).

There is a way to transform the attachment into another spreadsheet, but this isn't ideal since it's a form we need to print out.

Since I'm pretty sure option 1 is out of the question, option 2 is my fallback. PowerQuery can display the message ID. I was trying to figure out if there's a way I can use the message ID to open the email.

Are either of these feasible?

Hi @CMCCOY92 ,

Power Query doesn't provide a built-in way to open email attachments or emails directly from the  Microsoft Exchange data source. According to the search results, consider trying to open attachments in Excel using VBA.

vba - Download attachment from Outlook and Open in Excel

Gao
