Missing Columns from Sharepoint Data source

Hello all,

I'm running into an issue where one of the columns, specifically the Created By column from our Sharepoint site is not shoqing up within Power Bi. This column is neccessary for what I need to do, and I need to utilize the refresh function so I can't export to excel and import to Power BI.

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, but with a column that had a really long name starting with "If...". I changed the column name in the Query that I used to create the table in Excel (data from one sheet using Power Query to create a table in another sheet) and saved the file back to SharePoint. After refreshing everything, my column is now showing up in Power BI. I guess it just hated my column name? 🤷‍♀️

Check to see if you have a column called something like "Items" or any column that shows as its data something like "Table". Then, check to see if you see the expansion icon, it looks like two opposite facing arrows at the end of column header. Click that icon and look for a field called "Author". This should show up as "Record" and then you need to expand that into first and last name, username, etc.
