Hello,
I have been trying to do some analysis on our running Mailchimp campaigns, but the data load to Power BI Destkop takes too long. Already trimmed down the dataset to least possible size, but some tables still take forever to load.
Do you have any ides on how I might speed things up? Is it an issue with Power BI or Mailchimp?
Thanks,
Martin
@Faithick,
Which tables do you load into Power BI Desktop? How many rows in these tables?Unselect the following options in your PBIX file and check if the issue begins to ease .
In addition, I would recommend you connect to this Mailchimp PBIT file in the latest version of Power BI Desktop(2.57.5068.501), then check if you

Hi Lydia,
I'm experiencing exactly the same thing and I've gone and changed all the setting as per your earlier email.
In the Edit queries, I can see the preview of all the tables, but the moment I try to apply it, it keeps error out saying the mailchimp server is unavailable. When I do apply query changes, it would say loaded "xxx" rows in, but then it goes into an error window. Any Idea what's happening?
Thanks
Jubia
Hi @jubiajae I know this reply is very late lol. Since there’s no built-in connector for Mailchimp to PBI anymore, you will have to look for another way. As a workaround, maybe you can use a 3rd party connector, it can save you a lot of time compared to the other options. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Mailchimp connector in the data sources list:
After that, you will have to first create a secret API key in your Mailchimp account and then using your credentials add your account to the platform.
Once you’ve done this, you can proceed and go to the “Preview and destination” step
There just select the fields you need. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
