How to publish new versions of certified connector

Our company has released a certified Power BI connector (Information Grid) several years ago, which was back then still in a beta phase.
Throughout the years we have more and more people using the connector and have received questions about the beta warning, and we want to release a new version, just to get it out of the beta phase.
Unfortunately the persons who have developed and got the connector certified no longer work for our company, and have not documented any details on the process they went through nor the people they were in contact with on the Microsoft side.

I could not find any details on how to update an already certified connector so that it gets shipped with a future version of Power BI.
I also had a look at the page which describes how to get a connector certified: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connector-certification, but this doesn't specifically state anything on how to release future versions.

Can someone explain the process of releasing new versions of an already certified connector?

Hi @mauricer ,

This document contains a description of the steps involved in updating the connector version:

Power Query connector certification submission - Updates

First, you will need to navigate to the Connector Certification Portal and log in using a Microsoft work account. However, from the previous description, it appears that the original developer has left the organization; was the work account he was using internal or external to the organization? If within the organization, is the account information still maintained in the M365 Admin center?

Hi @v-cgao-msft ,

Thank you for your answer, the page you linked describes the process well.
You are right, the developer who has submitted the connector has left the organization. I have checked with our administrators, and even though he was internal, the account is completely removed per company policy.

Is there any process we can go through to transfer ownership/management of the connector? I'd then also like to transfer it to a generic administration account within our organization so that this doesn't happen again.

Best Regards,
Maurice

Hi @mauricer ,

It's not a scope I'm familiar with, but I think we can start doing both of the following things at the same time in preparation.
1. Contact Microsoft Support to inquire if there is any way to restore this account or transfer permissions.
Contact - Microsoft Support
2. Assuming we can't restore the account, we need to follow the previous documentation to create a new project to submit the authentication and update the connector.
