How do I solve pass parameters by users

Hi there,

I have been trying many of way to let users enter value in the parameter by using power bi server report for my organization.

Please, I need to solve this problme by any way. An addition, it's only work by this way -> Home -> Edite Queries -> Edit parameters.

 select sum (db.fun_gt.g_m_c ( a.branchoff,
                               a.cntno ,
                               db.fun_date (db.dte_pkg.g2h (TO_DATE ('31122018','ddmmyyyy')))))  as sum
  from db.Test a;

/*With parameter*/
select sum (db.fun_gt.g_m_c ( a.branchoff, a.cntno , db.fun_date
(db.dte_pkg.g2h (TO_DATE ('"&Pass_Date&"','ddmmyyyy'))))) as sum
from db.Test a;

Thanks 🙂

Hi @ali_a

Do you publish the report to Power BI Service(cloud service) or Power BI Report server(on-premises report server with a web portal)?

If you mean publishing the report to Power BI Service(cloud service), then you share reports to users, you want the users can change the parameter for the reports, right?

There are some guides on how to set parameter in Power BI Service:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-parameters

http://www.informationmagician.com/use-parameters-as-database-reference/

But if your users have no acess to the dataset, this feature in Power BI Service may not work for them.
