Hi,
Here is some context to my situation. I have a table with all of our outstanding item that is updated every month (let's call the table: Outstanding). Every month, the Outstanding table is overwritten with the outstanding items as of this new date. My issue is I'd like to record the number of outstanding items each month, before the update. That way, we will be able to track the change of outstanding items over-time. Is there a way to do so inside Power BI?
Example:
We are the last day of the month, so automatically it would write in another table the sum of outstanding items for each type of transactions for that month then update the Outstanding table with the new file.
Any help would be appreciated.
@Whoule you need to archive your daily power bi dataset using Power Automate by calling a DAX query. Once you have daily archived data, you can do whatever you like. The prerquisite for this would be power BI premium capacity (to be able to utilize XMLA endpoint for SSAS query) and access to Power Automate.
If you have Fabric -I believe you can append (as oppseed to overwrite that power bi currently does) the rows that got changed along with past rows in a lakehouse table. I have a use case and I will test the same scenario in next few weeks.
