Help with measurement

Hello all,

The calculation i found online didn't work so i thought i will try here. I am new to power bi. I have 2 colums in my bi, one with time spent and another with diffrent operation type (maybe 15 diffrent items) and now i need to calculate sum but for each category. How can i do this?

I use the f formaula belowe but it didnt work. Thank you for your help!

=CALCULATE(SUM(Table6[Value]),ALLEXCEPT(Table6,Table6[Category]))

Hi,

@Greg_Deckler , thanks for your concern about the problem, and i want to offer some more information for user to refer to.

hello @Just2431 , based on your description, you just need to create the following measure

Measure = CALCULATE(SUM('Table'[Time Spent]),ALLEXCEPT('Table','Table'[Operation]))

Output

@Just2431 Sorry, having trouble following, can you post sample data as text and expected output?
Not really enough information to go on, please first check if your issue is a common issue listed here: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/Before-You-Post-Read-This/ba-p/1116882

Also, please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.
