I've looked on a couple forums and haven't been able to find an explanation for why this problem is happening. I'm new to Power Query and, for some reason, I keep reaching a point in each workbook that uses it where the whole thing freezes up if I try to check a DAX formula. From the Measure dialog box, I type in a DAX formula and when I click on "Check Formula", everything relating to the measure closes and I am unable to use excel until I restart the program from task manager.
I appear to be able to use the pivot table as long as I don't attempt to write any new measures. I suspect it is getting caused by something strange happening the first time I try to check a formula that isn't correct, but deleting the old formula does not fix the problem. Once it happens once, I am effectively unable to write new measures unless I start from scratch in a new workbook.
Hi @rnoble1983
Try repairing MS Office. Try the steps below:
Windows + R --> Control --> at the top right change from "Classic vie" to "Large Icons" --> Program and Features --> find MS Office and select it --> Click Change --> It gives 2 options "Quick repair" or "Online Repair" choose "Online Repair"
Hope this will resolve the issue.
If this resolves the problem then do mark as a solution and click the upvote button.

It still isn't working, even after trying both the quick and online versions of the office repair.
