I have 5 reports built at different times over the past couple years which are all pulling data from SQL server and set to auto refresh at different times. This has all been working flawlessly for the past couple years but the past few weeks after the reports update they just show "BLANK" for everything until I go manually update them then they are fine again. Anybody know of an issue with this?
All of a sudden as in all at once. Started 2 weeks ago. I don't have a gateway, the reports are posted directly to PBI service and run on a MS SQL server to refresh the data. Nothing changed on my end. I feel like this is something going on with the PBI service / MS backend that is not being acknowledged. These reports have been set on automatic refresh for months and years with no issues and now they all break on auto-refresh but they will allow me to manually refresh from my workbook screen.
If you use on-Prem MS SQL Server you need a gateway.
Here's the list of most recent changes
As noted, don't need a gateway. It has been working just fine for past 2 years up to a couple weeks ago. Same issue this week. All reports are blank after the "scheduled refresh". I now have a calendar reminder to do manual refreshes on all reports after their scheduled refresh wipes everything.
Hi @Jason_1981 ,
Are you receiving any error messages in Power BI, gateway or the SQL server logs related to the refresh failures? Have there been any changes to your SQL server or network environment in the weeks leading up to this issue?
This information will help us narrow down the potential causes and find a resolution more efficiently.
Best Regards,

No error messages, nothing is failing. The scheduled refresh runs and wipes all data to shared reports. I then run a manual refresh from PBI web server and it will restore the report with refreshed data.
Can you qualify "all of a sudden" ? Any particular date? Service versions change all the time, and you may have changed the gateway version too.

if that MS SQL server is not on Azure but on-premise then it will need a gateway.
However it's setup is not the issue here. It has worked as-is for years now and only recently the automatic refresh bricks all reports. Going to my workspace and manually doing refresh updates them all correctly. I am just clicking the refresh button and that works, the automatic scheduled refresh is clearing out all the data on every report.
