Hi,
If my Power BI desktop file is updated with new data from my data source (in this case a CSV file), do I always need to publish it so that my online dashboard (on web app) reflects the new data?
Is there a way for the online dashboard to automatically display the updated data?
Thanks!

@afk,
You can configure Power BI gateway on your machine, add the csv data source within the gateway, then set schedule refresh for your dataset in Power BI Service. This way, when data are changed in the csv file, the data will be automatically updated in Power BI Service, and you don't need to re-publish PBIX file each time.

Lydia
You can also have the .csv file placed in a onedrive folder and change the url in Power BI - Edit Queries on file source properties.
Here is a instruction:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-use-onedrive-business-links
@Anonymous solution is also an option but it requires the computer with the gateway to always be online when the update is made.
