Hi
I am working on a PBI dashboard using a client's SQL Server database connector which is limited to its local area network.
For me to work on the file I usually just take it with a USB and work on it from my personal laptop.
The issue I am having is once I open up PowerQuery, data sources of tables give errors hence cannot so any data transformations and have to take the file back to the customer's LAN to refresh the view.
I cannot work on client premises as they are 700 km away and working with a remote tool e.g. anydesk is not practical. Also I have a powerful pc while my clients have only normal laptops.
Any solution to disable this refresh without impacting data sources?
Thanks
Hi @Medmbchr ,
Please try the following methods:
1.Disable Power Query background refresh - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
2.Right click the query and uncheck "Include in report refresh".
3.Please see if the solution in this blog can help:

You can use a Gateway for that, either personal or enterprise.

Hi
The client still has no Power BI service, I am currently developing the solution and once it's done they are going to invest in a Power BI service. For the time being I just need a solution to stop refreshing my data sources in Power Query, which cannot be done even with the first solution proposed
