Data automatically changed

I have several integer values in PowerQuery (0 to 10) which, when clicking "Close & Apply" to go to Power BI Desktop, are being changed to a fixed value (10) in all rows.
The format is already set correctly in the model and in the table; there are no DAX formulas in this table; the "Changed Type" step was applied correctly and tested at different points in the M code.

Does anyone know why this happens, and how to fix it?

Hi @FillipeF5 ,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Fabric Community.

Just checking in to see if your issue is resolved and if any responses were helpful.
If you still need assistance, please reach out and share sample .pbix for better guidance. You can upload your file to a cloud storage (like OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive or Wetransfer for example) and paste the link to that storage location here.

Thank you.

It looks like sorting has been applied either in Power Query (M) or directly in Power BI. Based on your output screenshot, the sort order is being applied from one of those two places.

Hey!

Are these integers randomly generated? If so it might have to do with how Power Query evaluates your query.

Rick de Groot (BI Gorrilla) has a great article on this. https://gorilla.bi/power-query/generate-random-numbers/
To solve this you basicly have add a index column after you generate the random number. then delete that column again. This makes sure that Power Query does a row by row evaluation keeping the random numbers for each row in tact.

Hopefully this helps

@FillipeF5

Hard to say without seeing your data and preferably the actual PBIX file so we can see what is going on.

Hi, It looks like after loaded in Power BI, in Table view your data might be sorted in a certain way and only value 10s apprear on top rows.

@FillipeF5 That sounds extremely strange. Can you copy and paste your query code using Advanced Editor so that we can observe what transformations are being done?
