Hi,
I built a dashboard with Power BI Desktop, then I uploaded it into the Power BI service part of our Office 365.
The dashboard was built based on a local excel file, that gets updated through a scheduled report. I'd like to keep it that way, but I haven't figured out how to refresh within the service, when I refreshed in the Desktop I just hit the Refresh button and that was it, but when I try that in the service, I get this message:
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hi @brendaivett,
When you use personal gateway, please ensure that the computer that install personal gateway is online. You can follow the guide in this article to install and configure personal gateway, then refresh dataset that contains Excel data source using personal gateway.
In addition, you can also install on-premises gateway and schedule refresh for your Excel file using on-premises gateway, for more details about this process, please review this similar thread: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Integrations-with-Files-and/Scheduled-refresh-for-excel-file-with-o... .
Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
