Combining data as columns rather than rows

Hello,

I am new to power query and trying to find a solution to a problem I am having with trying to combine files.

Power query usually combines files into rows. each of my files have about 2000 rows with the following two columns:

Wavelength_file1.       Reflectance_file1.

The issue is that when power query combines these files as rows i have to scroll about 2000 rows before I can get to file 2. Therefore, I am wondering if it is possible to lay out a table such that my files will be combined in columns like the following:

wavelength_file1Reflectance_file1wavelength_file2Reflectance_file2Wavelength_file3Reflectance_file3

Thank you for your help.

Amir

Hi @apourgha ,

If you are only searching for rows, you can use:

1. Apply filter

2. Add a custom step: Table.FindText(TableNames/PreviousStep, "Keyword")

if the above suggestion does not suit your situation, you can:

1. Merge Wavelength_file1.  & Reflectance_file1. columns then pivot the merged column, which should give you the layout as below.

wavelength_file1Reflectance_file1wavelength_file2Reflectance_file2Wavelength_file3Reflectance_file3

Regards

KT
