Change Data Source but Keep Models and Visualizations

]Hello, I am using DirectQuery to get data from SAP business one system and created visualizations for in Power BI. However, we have multiple data warehouses (with the same data structure) (for example: a data warehouse for AU company, a data warehouse for NZ company, etc.)

My question is, because it is the same data and tables (generally just added tables or fields and doing some simple calculations), is it possible to use a button to switch/change the data source in Power BI but keep the same data models and visualizations that we created for the original data warehouse source that we used?

I've already known that I can change the data source in 'Data Source Settings', but I am wondering if I can set a button or something to let users to control it on the page?? Thank you.

Otherwise, can I import two tables from two different data source but they have the same tables' name (eg. OITM from AU_SAP dataset, OITM from NZ_SAP dataset) and show them on one page? Will the data influence each other?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Agree with lbendlin.

In addition, if you have two identical tables from two different data source, you can append them in the Power Query editor to make one table.

That's what Power Query parameters are usually used for.  You use them in your source definition, and then you can change the parameter in the Power BI Service  (or even in Power BI Desktop)  to switch sources "dynamically" (the change will only take effect on the next query or refresh)

Haven't tried this with Direct Query, but that's how it works for Import mode  sources.
