Hi, I have looked through some of the solutions of creating mode measures in dax, specifically when it comes to breaking a tie when there is more than 1 mode value. My question is, does it always require a tie breaker (Either min or max value)? Interested in knowing how to display "No mode" if I don't want to break the tie.
Mode :=
MINX (
TOPN (
1,
ADDCOLUMNS (
VALUES ( Data[Value] ),
"Frequency", CALCULATE ( COUNT ( Data[Value] ) )
),
[Frequency],
0
),
Data[Value]
)

Hi @Anonymous ,
I am not sure if I understood your question correctly. Do you want to return blank when multiple values rank as 1? If so, please try the following measure.
Mode =
VAR tab =
TOPN (
1,
ADDCOLUMNS (
VALUES ( Data[Value] ),
"Frequency", CALCULATE ( COUNT ( Data[Value] ) )
),
[Frequency], 0
)
RETURN
IF ( COUNTROWS ( tab ) > 1, BLANK (), MINX ( tab, Data[Value] ) )
If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.
