I have a star schema in an Azure SQL Database with the fact tables having the schema "Fact" and the dimension tables having the schema "Dimension". Some of the import tools can't seem to deal with these schemas. Power Pivot in Excel gets a list of tables just fine, but it doesn't display the schema associated with them. And when it tries to get the data, all the imports fail. The same thing happens with SSAS. Power Query works just fine.
When I've Googled on the issue, I see one bug report to Microsoft in 2012.
I'm inclined to move the database to a full instance of SQL Server and dump Azure SQL, unless anyone else has a suggestion.
Thanks
i thought this bug was fixed, did you submit it in a frown face to Microsoft?
No....given my lack of experience in this technology, I can't rule out some ignorance on my part. However, I moved my DB to a full instance of SQL Server and it works as the good Lord intended.
hallelujah
