Getting data from a REST api. If you reference the query does it call the api once or each time the query is referenced. Ive read this https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/guidance/power-query-referenced-queries
But surely the data sits in the original query and should be accessed like an array. The fact if calls each time sounds crazy. Example would be api returns column look up names and the data for that are in the column. Convereting the column names to a table and then having to re run the query to get the data and convert to table seems crazy. Am i missing something ,?
Yes you run multiple times you request.. the goal of referenced queries it's to simplify queries / M script
