Power BI Dataviz World Champs | Round 1

Opens: June 16 Closes: June 26 Round 2 opens: July 7

The Dataviz World Champs begin now. This is more than a challenge — it’s your journey to Barcelona 🇪🇸.

Finalists will earn a conference ticket and the chance to showcase their work live, on stage, in front of the global data community. Imagine the lights, the audience, the energy of seeing your work come alive.

Not everyone can make the trip, and that’s okay. But as you build, present, and refine, keep that stage in mind. That’s the destination.

Round 1 brings a football‑inspired dataset in honor of the World Cup . The challenge is simple to say but hard to execute: What is driving changes in revenue performance over time, and where should the business focus next to sustain growth?

You’re building for executives. Five pages. Every pixel must earn its place.

The scenario is PitchSide Pro, a global e‑commerce retailer for football merchandise. Kits, boots, training gear, scarves, collectibles. Growth driven by seasonal demand, major football moments, product launches, and digital expansion. Peaks, patterns, stories. Your job is to make sense of it all.

Your task is to build a Power BI report that answers the revenue question clearly and convincingly.

Your audience is the executive leadership team. They check this report daily. They expect clarity, precision, and depth.

Submission requirements are a single .pbix file built in Power BI Desktop, no more than five pages, using the provided dataset, with at least three core visuals, and meeting accessibility expectations with clear labels, alt text, strong contrast, and intentional layout.

You can use custom themes, add images like flags or badges, and bring in football energy and personality. Clarity comes first.

You cannot alter the dataset, add or fabricate data, or bring in external sources. You can model, transform, and analyze, but the source data must remain unchanged.

We’re looking for clear explanation of trends, identification of real drivers, insight across products, regions, channels, and segments, and strong, defensible recommendations.

The data includes FactSales, FactTraffic, Date, Product, Customer, Region, and Channel. Everything you need is there.

Final reminder: this is a clarity challenge. Not about complexity or flash. It’s about clear thinking, strong insight, and confident communication.

Your path to the stage 🌍: every submission is a step closer. From your first page to Barcelona.

Meet the Judges 👩‍⚖️: Paulo Grijo – Dataviz World Champion 2025. More judges coming soon.

Official Rules 📘: review timelines and eligibility before submitting.

Ready? 🚀 Download the dataset, explore the story, and build something great

Very excited! Good luck to everyone!
