Hi there,
I'm trying to connect ADF linked service to Azure SQL DB using service principle so i dont need to use userid or password. However i think im missing something. I think there could be VNET inbetween. I followed instructions, may be in im missing something and ADF is not connecting. I feel I have set up both the ends correctly, however there is something in the middle that seems to be stopping.
Thanks

Thank you.
im super confused. the below private end point approval error states im requesting access from different tenant id. which im not. There is only 1 subscription which has different RG, and Azure SQL and ADF are under the same subscription.
your setup seems correct at the SQL and service principal level, the connection is failing because ADF cannot reach the SQL server network endpoint. Since you are using a Managed VNet IR, ensure the SQL Server has either public access enabled with allow Azure Services turned on, or a private endpoint from ADF created and approved. If using private endpoint, verify its status is Approved and that a Private DNS Zone privatelink.database.windows.net is linked to the Managed VNet. Until the network path is open, ADF will not be able to resolve the server name and the connection will fail, regardless of credentials.
Thanks @Vinodh247
I dont want to enable public access since its not public access right now. but currently it has selective network.
