What laptop works for Power BI

I'm new to Power BI, currently training for the exam. I have a MAC and see that it's not compatible to even download Power BI on my Mac. Any suggestions for which laptop brand works best for Power BI?

Hi @Anonymous ,

Unfortunately, Power BI is a Windows-only application, so it does not run on Mac. And Power BI developers are not considering bringing Power BI Desktop to Mac anytime soon;

Parallels® Desktop for Mac is a fantastic way to run Power BI on M1 and Intel-based Mac computers. That said, because Microsoft has not yet released an official Power BI desktop for Mac, users must use Windows virtualization to run it.

Below are some recommendations to run Power BI on Macintosh Devices provided in this blog:

  1. Install and run Power BI on a Virtual Machine, then remote in to that Virtual Machine.
  2. Install and run Power BI on a PC, then use a remote viewer to control that PC.
  3. Use an alternative BI solution.
  4. Install Windows on Mac using Boot Camp
