Hello,
I have shared some Power BI apps with users in my organization. However, when they attempt to open the Power BI app from MS Teams in their iPads, it consistently prompts to open in the Power BI standalone app, rather than directly opening within the Teams app. Interestingly, upon the initial sign-in, users can successfully open the Power BI app within MS Teams, but subsequent attempts prompt them to open the Power BI standalone app. Even after logging the user out and relogging, similar behavior persists.
Note: Everything works fine on the desktop.
Here are some details regarding the device OS version and app versions:
iPad Device: iPad Pro (11 Inch, 4th Generation)
iPad OS Version: 17.1.1
Microsoft Teams Version: 5.20.2
Power BI Standalone App Version: 29.7
Has anyone faced this issue before?
I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could assist with this issue. Thanks in advance.
Hi there! Try this simple solution if your iPad isn't opening Power BI apps in MS Teams.
First, ensure both apps are updated to the latest versions.
If the issue persists, try restarting your iPad and reopening MS Teams.
May be this is helpful for you
Thanks
Thank you @mshenhav for your reply.
I am seeing an additional issue: the second menu bar on the left (see the below screenshot) only appears the first-time users login to Teams.
It completely disappears when users return to the Teams app after closing it, thus preventing the user from accessing these options.
Is it a bug with teams app of I Pad? I believe these issues are interrelated.
Has anyone else ever faced such issues?
Thanks, Rahul
Hey @Rahul_Rajagopal ,
Thanks for reporting this issue as well. I forwarded your input to the relevant team.
Thanks Maya
It seems like you're encountering a specific issue with Power BI apps in Microsoft Teams on iPads, where users are consistently prompted to open the Power BI standalone app instead of opening within the Teams app. This behavior, especially after the initial sign-in, could be related to compatibility or integration challenges between the iPad OS, Microsoft Teams, and Power BI apps. To troubleshoot, you might want to check for any available updates for Microsoft Teams, Power BI, and the iPad OS. Additionally, verify if there are any known issues or updates mentioned in the release notes for these applications that address compatibility concerns. If the problem persists, reaching out to Microsoft Support or checking the Microsoft Tech Community forums for similar user experiences and potential solutions could be beneficial. Users might also ensure that their Teams and Power BI app settings on the iPad are configured correctly for seamless integration. At the end, i suggest Mercedes repair specialists
hey @Rahul_Rajagopal ,
Since the Power BI Teams app is not optimized for mobile devices and does not support mobile layout, when you open a report/dashabord/app from a mobile device, you are being redirected to Power BI Mobile app for better user expereince.
Thanks, Maya
