The charts in the Fabric Capacity Metrics App don't add up.

Attached are screenshots of our Utilization and Throttling charts for the same period.

The CU % over time in the Utilization chart shows a steady level of around 30%. Most of this is smoothed-out background jobs, with interactive jobs occurring only intermittently. There is consistently more than 70% of CU remaining available.

However, when we look at the Throttling chart for the same period, we see that Interactive delay occurs almost continuously. Interestingly, the shape of this chart closely resembles that of the "background" job on the CU % over time.

Even more curiously, the Interactive "rejection" chart also has a very similar shape.

As I understand it, throttling occurs when there is not enough CU available.

How should I interpret these charts?

Hi @ShunOshidari

Well it is difficult to interpret these charts as the CU usage of all operations seem be smoothed during this period. I'm not sure why the Throttling chart has a similar shape to the Utilization chart. Try selecting a date range and click Explore to check if there is any detailed "Rejected" status for interactive operations in that range.

Hopefully, the following documents are helpful.

Hi @v-jingzhan-msft

Thank you for your response.

I have zoomed in on the Interactive rejection chart, selected a single yellow bar, and displayed the Explore screen. It appears that one bar represents 30 seconds, and the attached image is from 7:51:30 AM on August 2nd.

Interestingly, in the Explore screen, nothing is displayed in the "Interactive operations for timerange" section.

What could this mean? Do you have any ideas about what might be happening?
