Using Metric hub in New Report or Existing report

As per the document, when we create a metric hub (in which we have only few measures and their respective dimension),When creating a new report connecting to metric set  we are expected to these only those measures and dimensions which are in the metric set. Use and monitor metrics - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

But when we create a metric set and try to connect in a new report or add in to the existing report , we are getting all the dimension and measures of the base semantic model , hoping which is not correct. Can someone help on this.

2. Why we are unable to select multiple measures from metric set in powber bi report  , if measures are from different semantic models ?

Hi @AnushaP1

Currently this is by design. In the documentation you linked, there is a notice as below, saying "For all report authoring scenarios, connecting to a metric currently brings the entire semantic model into the data pane. In the future the data pane will only show the metric and its related dimensions."

If measures are from different semantic models, you cannot select multiple measures into a new report in Power BI Service. A report can only link to one semantic model. If you want to add multiple measures from different semantic models, it should be a composite model. However you cannot initially create composite models directly in Power BI Service. Composite models must be created in Power BI Desktop first. Use composite models in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
