Hi,
The introduction of column level security, as part of the OneLake security model, is a massive leap forward in terms of effective security administration. However, it is an apparently known limitation that CLS does not work if used via an internal shortcut. I administer a centralised data repository, and my users wish to be able to shortcut from this and work with all their data as if it was local to their workspace. Are there any current plans to support this?
Thanks

Hi @JonBFabric
yes, I agree with you. This one lake column level security is Gam chaning feature in MSF Fabric. Currently it's limitataion for Short-cuts. I don't think there are no official announcements from Mcirosoft, yet about extending CLS enforcement across shortcuts. Kindly take look at this link https://roadmap.fabric.microsoft.com/
frequently for getting regular road map udpates.
Also, I writtena blog about , Onelake security. requetsing you please take a look aat it here Fine-grained ReadWrite access to data with OneLake... - Microsoft Fabric Community and share your feedback.
Hope this helps you.
Thank you!!

Good Morning,
This answered my original question, but I do have a followup question. Should I ask it here? or is the etiquette to begin a new thread?
Thanks
Hi @JonBFabric,
Glad this helped!
If your follow up is directly related to this same scenario or build, please feel free to continue in this thread so everything stays in one place. If it’s a separate or new use case, it’s usually better to start a new thread to keep things clear and easier for others to find.
Thank you.
