Unable to create a shortcut from warehouse

Hello,

I am unable to create shortcuts from a specific warehouse in my organization. It prompts me with "UnauthorizedToAccessTableFiles" error even though many other individuals who have the same access level as me are able to create shortcuts. Any insight on what might be driving this?

Currently, shortcuts are not supporrted directly in warehouses within Fabric environment. You can create shortcuts in lakehouses.  You can use the Clone table featuree to make copies of tables within the same Wareehouse. This approach serves different data management purposes compared to using shortcuts. How to clone the table, refer this link - Clone table - Microsoft Fabric | Microsoft Learn  

Table clones serve a different purpose in data management compared to shortcuts. While shortcuts are used to link to external data sources within a single warehouse, clones create separate copies of internal tables for specific tasks or purposes.

Hi, yes i understand. I am trying to create a shortcut table within a lakehouse based off of a table in warehouse.

For me it's working. If you see below snapshot..driver table presented in my warehosue.

After creating shortcut from warehouse to lake house my driver table presented in my lake house. pls have a look on below snapshot.

So, You are getting error "UnauthorizedToAccessTableFiles" means, you don't have proper permission. Pls check the following if you haven;t done.

• Make sure your permissions are properly configured. Even if others have the same access level, certain permissions might still differ between users.
  
• Log out and log back in again. This helps refresh your session and can fix temporary authentication problems.
