Hi,
I'm using MS Fabric and have created Pipelines, dataflows gen2, notebooks and lakehouses.
I've installed the onelake app so my users can access the lakehouse data from a file explorer window but the onelake view is showing all componenets in my Fabric workspace and has created folders in the onelake view.
How can i restrict this so it only shows the lakehouse?

Hi @Lukemattestor ,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.
Hi @burakkaragoz , @KevinChant , Thank you for your prompt response.
Hi @Lukemattestor , In addition to @KevinChant , i am adding some alternative workarounds.
Please refer below workarounds.
1. Create a dedicated folder structure within your lakehouse for user access. Aske the users to navigate directly to those folders in OneLake File Explorer. And avoid placing notebooks, pipelines, or dataflows in the same directory as lakehouse data.
2. Use workspace-level permissions in Microsoft Fabric to limit visibility. This helps isolate lakehouse data from other Fabric components.
Please refer Microsoft document.

I hope this information helps. Please do let us know if you have any further queries.

If you are using Microsoft Fabric and installed OneLake File Explorer you may notice it shows all workspace items like Pipelines Notebooks and Dataflows not just the Lakehouse
Solution is to map directly to the Lakehouse folder
Steps
Open File Explorer
Right click This PC and select Map network drive
Choose any drive letter for example Z
Enter the path

Simlest solution is to have your lakehouse in a separate workspace. It depends what you intend to use the lakehouse for.
Hi @Lukemattestor ,
Thank you for your question about the OneLake File Explorer.
Currently, the OneLake File Explorer displays all components within your Fabric workspace, including Pipelines, dataflows, notebooks, and lakehouses. There is no built-in setting to restrict the explorer view to show only lakehouse items. The view is designed to provide access to all items that are part of your Fabric environment.
If limiting the view to only lakehouse data is important for your use case, I recommend submitting feedback through the OneLake File Explorer or the Microsoft Fabric feedback portal. The product team regularly reviews user suggestions for potential improvements.
If my response resolved your query, kindly mark it as the Accepted Solution to assist others. Additionally, I would be grateful for a 'Kudos' if you found my response helpful. Let me know if you have any other questions!
